PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition in a jelly or pasty state free from an undissolved lump of powder and bulk, by previously and uniformly wetting a film-forming agent with a mixed solution consisting of a humectant and an alcohol and/or a small amount of water and the rest of water to swell or to dissolve the film-forming agent. CONSTITUTION:A film-forming agent such as polyvinyl alcohol is previously and uniformly wetted with a mixed solution of a humectant (e.g. glycerin or xylitol) and a lower alcohol (especially preferably ethanol) or a mixed solution further blended with apart of water to be used in the composition, then incorporated with the rest of water, the film-forming agent is swollen or dissolved to give a jelly or pasty skin covering composition. The composition is suitable for pack cosmetic, ointment or fomentation. By this production, the film-forming agent can be dispersed or dissolved in a short time by simple operation and with small energy without forming an undissolved lump of powder and bulk, a large amount of the film-forming agent can be blended and the composition can be mass produced. |
