PURPOSE:To make it possible to press printing paper and an ink sheet against the entire surface of a thermal head with a uniform pressure, by providing a main platen and an auxiliary platen rotated in close contact with and in parallel to the main platen by the rotation of the main platen. CONSTITUTION:Printing paper 5 and an ink sheet 2 are supplied and fed in synchronism with the rotation of a main platen 6. In this case, a vibration generated by a motor or the like, a deflection due to the friction between the paper 5 or the ink sheet 2 and a thermal head 1 or the like tends to be induced in the main platen 6. However, the vibration is adsorbed by an auxiliary platen 7 rotated in close contact with the main platen 6, and deformations of the main platen 6 due to the deflection or the like are corrected by the auxiliary platen 7. As a result, no vibration or deflection is generated at the contact part between the main platen 6 and the thermal head 1, and the paper 5 and the ink sheet 2 can be pressed against the thermal head 1 with uniform pressure.
