PURPOSE:To prevent staining due to clogging with a toner or the like while retaining softness of a surface by forming a porous body made of a tetrafluoroethylene resin on the outer circumference of a foam elastic layer and impregnating the porous part of the porous body with a liquid heat resistant rubber, and hardening it. CONSTITUTION:The press roller is obtained by forming the foam elastic layer 11 on the roller core 10 made of a metal or plastics, coating the circumference of the layer 11 with the porous body 12 made of the tetrafluoroethylene resin, impregnating the porous part of the body 12 with the liquid heat-resistant rubber, and then, hardening the layer 12, thus permitting flexibility of the foam elastic layer 11 not to be lost, accordingly, a sufficient nip distance for fixing even under low pressure to be ensured, consequently, the toner to be improved in fixability, and a sharp image to be obtained, the surface of the roller to be freed of adhering of the toner by impregnating the pores with the rubber, and the reverse side of a copying paper not to be stained. |
