PURPOSE:To obtain an external preparation for skin containing Inula japonica Thumb and./or extract thereof, preventing and relaxing inflammation of skin and simultaneously having also effect for preventing and improving blacking by sun burn, stain and freckles. CONSTITUTION:Flower, leaf, stem or whole grass of the genus Inula japonica Thumb such as Inula japonica Thumb, Inula salicina is extracted using a extracting solvent such as water, lower monohydric alcohol, liquid polyhydric alcohol at ambient temperature or heated conditions and filtered to afford extract, which is directly used or concentrated to provide the external preparation for skin containing 0.001-10.0wt.%, especially 0.01-5.0wt.% solid content. The external preparation is reduced in coloring and odor and has excellent effect for keeping the skin from chapping, effect for improving skin chapping and beatifying effect. |
