PURPOSE:To reduce the size and improve the magnetic-field inverting speed of a perpendicular magnetic-field generator, by performing a tapering work on the tip of a center core around which an exciter coil is wound and fitting a U-shaped yoke to the other end of the center core. CONSTITUTION:A yoke 2 is fitted to a center core 1, whose tip is tapered, and an exciter coil 3, which is composed of a formal copper wire and whose surface is tightened after it is dissolved with an organic solvent, is put on the center core 1 by using a jig. When the perpendicular magnetic-field producer constituted in such way is used, the magnetic reluctance of the magnetic circuit can be reduced and the number of turns of the exciter coil can be reduced. Moreover, inversion of the magnetic field can be attained when the direction of the electric current made to flow to the exciter coil is reversed.
