PURPOSE:To prevent a high voltage from being generated owing to the sudden variation f the fed current of an optical submarine cable and to perform safe measuring operation by providing a short-circuit induction coil concentrically with the optical submarine cable wound in a tank. CONSTITUTION:The optical submarine cable 1 to which a repeater is connected is stored while wound around the periphery of the core 4 in the center part of a tank 2. The short-circuit induction coil 3 and cable 1 are provided concentrically, so the coil 3 corresponding to a secondary winding of a transformer is short-circuited, its impedance is nearly zero, and even if the fed current of the cable 1 corresponding to a primary winding varies suddenly, any resulting high voltage is prevented from being generated and the damaging of the repeater, etc., is eliminated to prevent a measuring operator for being injured. |
