PURPOSE:To prevent the proliferation of large and environmental deterioration due to a malodorous substance and to keep the freshness of fresh vegetables, fresh fish, by using an antibacterial porous body composed of a composition containing a thermoplastic resin and a zeolite type particle holding a metal ion having an antibacterial property. CONSTITUTION:A composition containing a thermoplastic resin and a zeolite particle holding a metal ion is pulverized while the obtained particulate is sintered or thermally welded. As the thermoplastic resin, for example, low, medium and high density polyethylene resins are designated and, as the metal ion, silver copper, zinc, mercury, tin lead, bismuth, cadmium, chromium, cobalt, nickel or the like are designated. These metal ions are fixed to natural or synthetic zeolite composed of aluminosilicate alone or in a mixed form. The compounding amount of the zeolite particle holding the metal ion is set to 0.001-20%, pref., 0.1-10% by wt. of the thermoplastic resin. A high concn. master batch is pref. used in reparing a sintered body because the sintered boy having the zeolite particle uniformly dispersed therein can be obtained.
