A throttle valve shaft 13 carries a throttle lever 16 mounted loosely thereon so as to be rotatable independently of the throttle shaft by depression of an accelerator pedal 2. A control arm 14 is fixedly mounted on the throttle shaft 13 and is connected to a lever 11 of a centifugal governor (8a, .....8e, Fig 4) on a gearbox output shaft (4b) through a cable 12. A torsion coil spring 18 has one end engaged with the lever (11) and the other end engaged with the arm 14. Depression of the accelerator pedal 2 causes the throttle lever 16 to rotate, which rotation is transmitted via the coil spring 18 to the control arm 14 which in turn rotates the throttle shaft 13. The operation of the governor causes the control arm 14 to rotate with the coil spring being elastically deformed when a predetermined vehicle speed is exceeded. <IMAGE> |
