PURPOSE:To efficiently and quickly raise the temp. of a sample with small electric power by passing electric current directly to a resistor or another resistor attached with a sample thereby heating the sample. CONSTITUTION:The resistor 2 is provided across the ends of both legs of a base plate 1 for mounting the sample. This resistor is retained by retainers 3 and are tightened by screws 4. Passages 5 for cooling water are provided to the two legs and inflow or outlet ports 6 for cooling water are formed to both ends thereof. A thermocouple junction 7 for temp. measurement is attached to the rear face of the resistor 2 in the central part thereof. The root end of the one leg 8 of the base plate 1 is bound with the central piece of the base plate 1 by a shaft 9 so that the leg can be turned slightly within the plane inclusive of the base plate 1. On the other hand, an electrical insulator 10 is inserted to the central piece of the base plate 1 to provide insulation between the two legs. Terminals 11 of heating current are provided to the base end part of said legs and are connected by electric wires 12 to a power supply. A nozzle 13 is provided to the central part of the base plate 1 to blow cooling fluid at a high velocity to the rear face in the central part of the resistor 2. The temp. of the sample is thus raised efficiently with the small electric power. |
