PURPOSE:To reproduce transmitted picture information on a recording paper without reducing and to avoid a deterioration in a transmitting picture quality between different sizes by dividing the picture information of an original to the size of the recording paper and transmitting the respective divided picture information as one page. CONSTITUTION:At the time of a transmission, a scanner 3 executes the main scanning and the subscanning of a width on the original 2 to read the picture information for every one page and stores in a buffer memory 4. Then, the picture information of the memory 4 is stored in a page memory 5 by one page, an original image is directly read or a prescribed address management is received through a system control part 13 to divide the original and it is read as a new page for every divided picture information. Then, the read picture information is transmitted to a line from a network control part 9 through a data compression/reproducing device 6, a transmission control part 7 or the like. At the time of dividing the stored picture information in a sub- scanning direction, the sub-scanning direction and the main scanning direction of the respective picture information after the division are shunted and transmitted. Thereby, the deterioration in the picture quality of the transmitted picture between the different sizes can be avoided.
