PURPOSE:To avoid a crack of a head chip caused by a difference of a thermal expansion coefficient at the tie of burying and fixing the head chip into a head chip inserting groove of a slider, by forming the slider by a magnetic material in the same way as the head chip. CONSTITUTION:In floating surfaces 24, 25 provided in the longitudinal direction on both sides of magnetic disk opposes surfaces of a slider 20 consisting of Mn-Zn ferrite of a polycrystal structure being an oxide magnetic material, a head chip inserting groove 21 which extends in the thickness direction is provided on the rear end part side of one floating surface 24, and on the inside of this groove 21, a high melting point glass layer 28 whose thermal expansion coefficient is almost the same as Mn-Zn ferrite is formed and through this layer, a head chip 22 is inserted into the head chip inserting groove 21 and fixed. The slider 20 is formed from a magnetic material in the same way as the head chip 22 and its thermal expansion coefficient is approximate, therefore, at the time of fixing the head chip 22 by molten glass, a crack of the head chip 22 caused by a difference of the thermal expansion coefficient can be avoided.
