PURPOSE:To obtain multi-cored optical fibers which are inexpensive and small in size by disposing optical fibers in such a manner that the optical axis of the 3rd optical fiber is parallel with the optical axis of the main path and the incident light signal on the 1st optical fiber aligns to the optical axis of the 3rd optical fiber when said signal is reflected one after another by 1st and 2nd branching films. CONSTITUTION:The 1st, 2nd and 3rd optical fibers 3, 4, 5 having respectively diagonally polished end faces disposed and fixed to the inside of optical fiber guide grooves 2. The 2nd branch film, i.e., interference film filter 8 is formed to the end face of the 3rd optical fiber and the angles of the interference film filters 6 and 8 are so determined that the incident signal on the 1st optical fiber aligns to the optical axis of the 3rd optical fiber 5 when said signal is reflected one after another by the filters 6 and 8. Since the formation of the optical parts on a piece of substrate is thereby enabled, the entire part is reduced in size and since the number of parts is decreased, the cost is reduced. |
