PURPOSE:To use the picture read section singly by connecting the picture read section and an interface section by noncontact means. CONSTITUTION:When picture read section 16 is disconnected from an interface section 18 and moved onto an original face A, the picture information is stored in one file selected by a selection section 20 in advance in files 19a-19n of a storage section 19. In placing the picture read section 16 and the interface section 18 onto a prescribed position, a detection signal (d) of the set detection section 28 is inputted to an interface control section 25, from which a read instruction signal (a) of the picture signal is sent to a read control section 21 via signal connection sections 24, 23. The read control section 21 reads the picture signal (v) stored in the storage section 19 to output it to an external device 17.
