PURPOSE:To attain a image pickup not limited by the capacity of an image memory means in which a fixed capacity of image memory immediately proceeding the image pickup is stored at all time by making the memory frame of picked-up image in the image memory means be of latest N-pieces. CONSTITUTION:As image picking up proceeds, when an image is being picked up, for instance, in a 9-th frame, a frame number output circuit 20 outputs a number '9', but a memory area designating circuit 24 outputs a number '4' which is generated by dividing '9' by '5'. Accordingly, a memory address output circuit 22 specifies the area M4 of an image memory 10, and the picked-up image is stored in the area M4. The image that is stored there M4 hence is abandoned. Therefore, as the frame number of image pickup is increased at every time of image picking up, the share of latest five latest five frames of picked-up image are always stored in the image memory.
