An electric actuating switch for a medical endoscope, for example an RF switch, for the cutting electrode of a resection endoscope, which is intended to switch on the current when the electrode moves in the working direction, is provided with magnetic actuating elements which are entrained in a range of movement (trajectory) in a frictionally closed fashion by an element actuated with respect to the switch, and in the process alternately engage magnetically with a switching element which actuates the switching contact.
