PURPOSE:To permit automatic reversion easily upon slight abnormality, such as temporary overload or the like, by a method wherein the abnormality of an air-conditioning machine is identified to stop the operation of the air-conditioning machine, thereafter, the stopping condition is released by the re-throwing of a power source after a given time to effect self- reversion to a normal operation while storing and indicating the reason for abnormality. CONSTITUTION:The condition of an input is judg in a step 42 after starting an air-conditioning machine. When the indication of abnormality is requested but the content of the abnormality is not indicated on an indicating unit in the step 43, the step 44 decides whether and outdoor side serial signal is received or not and when the signal has not been received, a process is advanced to the step 50 and a normal air-conditioning process is effected. When the signal has been received, an outdoor abnormality is identified in the step 45. When there is no abnormality, the process is advanced to the step 50. When there is abnormality, a main relay OFF timer is started in the step 46 and the data of abnormal condition is stored. Power supply is intercepted in the step 47 and a given OFF time is elapsed in the step 48, thereafter, a main relay is put ON again and the step is returned to the normal air-conditioning process in the step 50. Accordingly, the re-operation of the air-conditioning machine may be effected when the abnormality is recovered to normality.
