Wood cross-cutting equipment comprising a cutting tool 1 supported on a frame 2, and a table 3 to support the lengths of timber to be cut up into shorter pieces of arbitrary length. The cutting tool 1 is supported at a level above the table 3, and during the cutting operation can be moved downwards to a cutting position near the table, while the table moves to and fro between an initial position and a feed position in order to feed the particular timber section gradually forwards to the cutting point, where a holding device 18 will hold the latter during the table's return from the feed position. <IMAGE> |
