PURPOSE:To reduce a change in the coefficient of friction and to prevent the meandering of the roll by providing members mainly consisting of a non-woven fabric, cloth, or an open cell material, which is buried so that it is exposed to the surface, to a liquid rubber that is wounded around a part of a core body. CONSTITUTION:A liquid rubber 12 is wounded around an iron core 11 at a predetermined position, while a plurality of V-shaped non-woven fabrics (rubber impregnated, non-woven fabrics 13) are buried in a part of the liquid rubber 12 in such a manner that the surface of the fabric exposes itself to the outside. These rubber impregnated non-woven 13 and liquid rubber 12 are treated for hardening. The rubber impregnated non-woven fabric 13 is arranged in such a manner that is faces along the circumferential direction of the iron core 11 and the apex part 13a of the fabric 13 is directed to the circumferential direction of the iron core 11. Accordingly, a change in the coefficient of friction is reduced even when wear occurs on the surface of the fabric 13, and a widening effect equivalent to that of an expanded roll can be obtained.
