PURPOSE:To improve the graininess and sharpness by adding a development inhibitor releasing compound and a compound contg. a nondiffusion type coupler component and a scavenger component to the silver halide emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:To a silver halide emulsion layer are added a development inhibitor releasing compound (DIR compound) and a compound represented by general formulaI[where R is H, alkyl or phenyl, nondiffusion type coupler-Iis residue obtd. by removing H at the active site of a coupler from the coupler forming a nondiffusion type coloring dye by coupling with the oxidant of a color developing agent, and coupler component-Iis a residue (savenger component) obtd. by removing H at the active site of a coupler from the coupler forming a diffusion type coloring dye or a compound assuming no color by coupling with the oxidant]. The graininess and sharpness can be improved without exerting unfavorable influence due to the DIR compound on the gradation and a processing soln. |
