PURPOSE:To expand the range of application by transmitting/receiving simultaneously sound information of picture information and its processing program and a program data part. CONSTITUTION:The picture information from a picture reader 4 is received at the transmission and stored in a file device 2 tentatively, and when a file name of a program sent simultaneously with the picture information is designated by an input device 3, whether or not the transmission to the same type equipment is applied prior to the main transmission is discriminated based on, e.g., a transmission destination telephone number, and when the transmission is not destinated to the same type equipment, the picture information read from the picture reader 4 and the communication rule only are sent to the opposite party through a public telephone line 8. When the sender and the receiver are of the same type of equipment, the sound information reserved in a file device 2 by using a microphone 10 earlier and the said picture information, and the program of the file name designated by he input device 3 among programs stored in the file device 2 and the program data part are read and then added to the picture information, and then the result is sent sequentially to the opposite destination through the public telephone line 8 according to the communication format.
