PURPOSE:To expand an inlet opening of a threshing chamber and to improve the smoothness of the transfer of a threshing object from a pretreatment part to the threshing chamber, by forming a threshing drum in conical form having gradually expanding diameter from the inlet end of a threshing chamber to nearly the middle part of the chamber. CONSTITUTION:Grain culms transferred by a hoist conveyor 5 is charged into a charging end of a threshing chamber 7 through a feeding port 6 and threshed with treating teeth 9b of a threshing drum 9 while being transferred successively to the delivery end of the threshing chamber 7 by the transfer action of a screw blade 9a. Materials dropped through a receiving net 17 among the threshed product are subjected to selective action in a selection part S and dusts which are not dropped through the receiving net 17, e.g. straw scraps are sent to a dust chamber 10 with a blower fan 11 integrated with the threshing drum 9 and discharged from the machine through a discharging port. The axial flow threshing drum 9 has conical form having thin charging end. As a result, the inlet opening of the threshing chamber 7 is expanded to enable smooth transfer of the treating object (grain culm) from an opening of a pretreatment part to the threshing chamber and, accordingly, the retention and clogging of the treating object at the charging end of the threshing chamber 7 can be prevented.
