PURPOSE:To improve the response performance, to execute a high-speed shift operation and to enhance the working efficiency by a method wherein one shift part which is shifted by using a feed screw driven by a driving motor and an attaching and detaching device to selectively attach or detach the shift part to or from a first feed table and a second feed table. CONSTITUTION:A first feed table 90 and a second feed table 92 are shifted by using one carriage 150 as a shift part. A feed screw 162 is attached to a guide frame 152 in a direction which is parallel to a printed-circuit board transfer direction; the carriage 150 is screwed to the feed screw 162 by using a nut 164 which is fixed in its inside. A pulley 166 which is fixed to one end of the feed screw 162 is coupled, by means of a belt 172, to a pulley 170 which is fixed to an output shaft of a driving motor 168 installed at a lower face of the guide frame 152; when the feed screw 162 is turned by the driving motor 168, the carriage 150 is guided to guide rails 154, 156. By this setup, a shift operation can be executed in a direction parallel to one straight line which is parallel to the printed-circuit board transfer direction and on which component feed parts of a component feed unit 98 are arranged.
