PURPOSE:To reduce the variation with time even in the case of high temperature, by using an electrolyte in which a several kinds of solute are dissolved in a mixed solvent of ethylene glycol and ethylene glycol monometlyl ether. CONSTITUTION:As an electrolyte for driving, the following are used; ethylene glycol of 80 parts, ethylene glycol monomethyl ether of 20 parts, potassium formate of 10 parts, ammonium maleate of 3 parts, phosphorous acid of 0.5 parts and polyvinyl pyrrolidone of 2 parts (average molecular weight 70000). The rate of change of electrostatic capacitance of an aluminum electrolytic capacitor in which the above electrolyte is used, is at most 10% for 3000 hr, which shows a very small change. ON the other hand, an electrolytic capacitor applying the usual electrolyte can not be used, because the sealing part is broken by gas generation, and the electrostatic capacitance decreases caused as the result of evaporation, drying and hardening.
