An odour trap for a waste pipe is fitted in a vertical section (6) of the pipe in which the water flows downwards. The odour trap consists of a hinged flap (1) which is pressed upwards against an oblique seat (2) by a counterbalance weight (5). The flap hinge pin (4) is mounted in slots in supports outside the pipe but enclosed in a pocket (7) formed on the outside of the pipe. This pocket also houses the counterbalance weight. The flap opens automatically under the weight of water flowing in the pipe. |
