PURPOSE:To have oil discharge with a constant rate of flow even when a pump is operating at low speed, by dimensioning two adjoining gaps of those formed between vanes and slits in the direction of rotor rotation greater than the other gaps, and forming vane in these places so as to hop out in good performance. CONSTITUTION:In this vane pump, a cam ring 12 is installed in a hollow chamber 11 formed in a pump housing 10, and a rotor 16 mounted on a rotary shaft 15 is accommodated in this cam ring 12. Vanes 17 are fitted freely slidably on the rotor 16 in its slits 16a formed radially. In this cases two adjoining vanes 17a of the vanes 17 are formed thinner than the other 17, while two adjoining gaps A between rotor 16 and slits 16a in the direction of rotor direction are made greater, that will allow the vanes 17a in these two places to jump out in good performance. Thus oil is discharged at a constant rate of flow even when the pump is operating at a low speed.
