PURPOSE:To simplify a calibrating work and a calibration managing work of a measuring instrument by providing an arithmetic unit for a calibration and a non-volatile memory on the measuring instrument itself. CONSTITUTION:A calibration is started by placing a dosimeter which has set a counting time T and a value (mR/h value) of a space dosage rate of a field where a standard radiation ray source exists, by setting devices 11, 12, in its space dosage rate field. Subsequently, from a counting value Cn (n-th calibration) of Tsec and an mR/h value by an integrating counter 6, a counting rate Yn and a calibration constant Kn are calculated by an arithmetic unit 9 by using the formula I, II, and also, a relative deviation Z to the first calibration value K1 is derived by the formula III and compared with a set value, and a display by a satisfactory/failure lamp 13 is executed. A date of calibration and the calibration constant Kn are stored in a calibration recording non-volatile memory 10, and the calibration constant at the time when a measuring instrument is usually used is changed to a new one. When a prescribed number of days elapse after the time of the previous calibration, a calibration time limit lamp is lighted. In such a way, the calibrating work becomes simple, and also, the calibration management can be simplified.
