PURPOSE:To prevent an accident from occurring when a vehicle passes on a bridge by providing an initial slight shock sensor of earthquake on or nearby the bridge and providing plural variable indicators, one speed detector, and one display device successively in the arrival direction of vehicles from in front of the bridge. CONSTITUTION:The initial slight shock (P wave) sensor 3 is provided on or nearby the bridge 2 where vehicles can pass and the indicators 5, 7, and 8 indicate the maximum speed (e.g. 60km/h) of the road unless the sensor 3 is operated. Then when the P wave is sensed, the sensor 3 sends a sense signal to a controller 4, which outputs a control signal 10 to display the earthquake occurrence and speed reduction on the display device 20 and also controls the indicators 5, 7, and 8 according to the output of a speed sensor S. Namely, the speed indication of the indicator 5 is set to, for example, 30km/h and all the indicators and the display of the display device 20 are blinked with the signal 10. Then vehicles which travel toward the bridge are forced to slow down stepwise according to the indicator indications. Consequently, an unexpected accident is prevented from occurring.
