PURPOSE:To eliminate the repetitions of useless shift operation in a vehicle incorporating a drive force control device and an automatic transmission, by providing a transmission control device which can be changed over between a normal mode and a special mode. CONSTITUTION:The speeds of drive and driven wheels in pairs are detected by respective corresponding detecting means Vn1, Vn2, Vd1, Vd2 in pairs, respectively, and the spins of the pair of drive wheels are detected by a pair of detecting means S1, S2 in accordance with detection signals from the detecting means Vn1, Vn2, Vd1, Vd2. A drive force control section 2 judges whether thus detected spins are greater than a predetermined threshold value or not, and if they are greater, it delivers a start signal. But when they are smaller, it delivers a stop signal after a predetermined time elapses. During the period from the issuance of the start signal to the issuance of the stop signal, a transmission control section 8 controls a transmission 10 only between the second speed range and the Mth speed range. |
