A mini-blind whose width can be adjusted to customer preference includes a ladder 17 and lifting cord fixed at one end, and at least one other ladder 19 movable across the blind. Once excess material 13-15a, 24a is removed at the other end, a hole is made through the entire assembly to take a second lifting cord and the anchor block 52 (see also Figs. 9-12) of the associated end ladder secured in the head rail. The tied ends of the cords are hidden by the clips 21, 22 (see also Figs. 13, 14). <IMAGE>
