PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of the title apparatus by constituting a friction material fixed to the contact surface between a vibrator and a moving body and composed of plastic materials containing at least a lubricating oil. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic motor is composed of a piezoelectric body 1, a metal vibrator 2 bonded and fixed to the surface of said body 1, and a moving body 3. In this case, a friction material 4 composed of plastics containing a lubricating oil is fixed to the moving body 3 to constitute said motor. Further, the vibrator 2 and the friction material 4 are pressurized and contacted by a fastening force. Thus, when a high-frequency electric field with resonance frequency is inputted to the piezoelectric body 1, a progressive wave is generated in the piezoelectric body 1 and the vibrator 2, and the friction material 4 is driven integrally with the moving body 3 by a frictional force between said material 4 and the vibrator 2. |
