PURPOSE:To surely detect the void part in a resin layer by projecting neutron rays to a resin combined metallic plate from one face thereof and detecting the neutron rays passed through said plate at the other face. CONSTITUTION:A neutron ray source 2 and a neutron detecting sensor 3 are provided to a C-shaped frame 1 and the neutral rays are projected to the composite metallic plate 4 passing therebetween from one side of said plate so as to be passed through the plate 4. Said rays are then detected on the other face. The neutron dose past the plate 4 is converted by the sensor 3 to an electric signal which is then introduced through a preamplifier 9 and an A-D converter 10 to a computing element 11. Apparatus calibration is executed by using the optimum standard composite metallic plate 6 in accordance with the size, material, void detection level, etc., of the resin combined metallic plate and the standard neutron dose for the purpose of void detection is previously stored from an operation board 12 into the element 11 and is compared with the detected neutrons. Decision is made that the voids have the trouble in quality when the result of the comparison is below the standard neutron dose. The result is then outputted to an alarm 13. |
