PURPOSE:To improve memory utilizing efficiency by setting the management unit of the memory based on the actual mount of facsimile interfaces so as to avoid waste of memories. CONSTITUTION:In a forward and store exchange 1 where sending from plural terminal sets is received and stored at the same time and sent to a designated destination, the system control unit 2 is provided with terminal number detection means detecting the number of actual mounts of facsimile interfaces F1-Fm to be processed at the same time, and a storage means using the terminal number for simultaneous processing as a parameter and storing the unit memory length applying memory management, the unit memory length is decided based on the result of terminal number detection means to manage the memory. Thus, the management unit of the memory in response to the effective processing speed of the store and forward exchange, the waste of the memory is decreased and the utilizing efficience of the memory is improved.
