PURPOSE:To obtain the titled coating agent for preventing static electricity, for paper for inexpensive copying machine, capable of lessening surface resistance without coloring and damaging transparency, comprising an electrical conductivity imparting component of an acidic ester containing hydrogen atom in a specific ratio, a film-forming polymer and a dispersion medium. CONSTITUTION:The aimed coating agent which consists of (A) 0.1-5wt.% electrical conductivity imparting component of an acidic ester of phosphoric acid or phosphorus acid containing 5-80wt.% replaceable hydrogen atom substituted with alkyl group or phenyl group, (B) 0.5-50wt.% film-forming polymer and (C) 30-90wt.% dispersion medium, can lessen surface resistance in application to paper, readily adjusting the end face of paper in arranging paper, sufficiently copes with high-speed operation of copying machine and provides antistatic effects.
