PURPOSE:To produce no loss of blank and moreover to cut out the blank easily by a method in which after the equilateral quadrilaterals with constant length of sides have been set closely in order on a curved surface based on reference lines, they are developed in rectangles and are copied on a plane, thereby determining the necessary dimension and shape of the blank. CONSTITUTION:Reference lines A, B are defined on the high dimensional curved surface 11 of a prescribed dimension and shape to be obtained. There reference lines A, B are two lines defined so as to cross at one point C on the curved surface 11. Next, the equilateral guadrilaterals with constant side length are closely set in order on said curved surface 11 based on said reference lines A, B. Here, the equilateral quadrilateral means that the coordinate of a point (d) is obtained from the three points (a), (b), (c) on the prescribed curved surface. Next, the set quadrilaterals are developed in rectangles, they are copied on a plane, thereby determining the necessary dimension and shape of the blank. Then, since it may be calculated and determined by a computer,the decision of the dimension and shape of the blank is easy.
