PURPOSE:To facilitate machining and assembling a rotor, by circumferentially arranging permanent magnets and heteropolar members alternately to constitute a stator and by composing the heteropolar members of soft magnetic materials. CONSTITUTION:A motor for driving a fan comprises a rotor 5 and a stator 6 having coils 37. In a cylindrical casing 15 are arranged multiple arc-shaped permanent magnets 20 and 21 at intervals circumferentially along the inside circumference. Between the permanent magnets 20 and 21 are provided fixing heteropolar members 22 and 23 respectively having about the same arc length as the circumferential intervals and composed of soft magnetic materials.
