Coating insulated electric wire with melt adhesive

A process consists of passing the wire through a heated pot (3) contg. the adhesive (11). The bath temp. is kept below the melting point of the insulating coating and the wire passes through two aligned openings in the walls of the bath, the outlet opening acting as a stripper to define the thickness of the adhesive coat. The coated wire (5) then passes through a cooling zone before it is reeled up.
