PURPOSE:To prevent flowing phenomenon of packed material based on periodic variance of deposited angle caused by dynamic friction and repose angle of the material and to improve sintering yield and strength by detecting packed density of raw material by densimeter horizontally set at charging position of raw material for sintering in a pallet and checking the raw material flowing phenomenon of the packed layer by variation level thereof. CONSTITUTION:The raw material 11 for sintering discharged from a hopper 1 through a discharging gate 2 is charged on running pallet 5 through a drum feeder 3 and a slopping chute 4 to form the packed layer 12, and the sintering is executed. The gammaray densimeter 6 is horizontally set at the position charging the raw material in this pallet 5 for sintering. By this meter, the packed density of sintering raw material packed layer 12 is continuously detected. This detected value is inputted into an arithmetic processing unit 10 through a signal processing unit 9. Then, based on the above detected value, the variation level of variable range, cycle, etc., in the packed density of the packed layer 12, is found. By this variation level, structure of the packed layer 12 and the flowing phenomenon for the raw material is quantitatively and surely grapsed. By this method, control factors for charging the raw material of the discharging gate 2, drum feeder 3, slopping chute 4, etc., is controlled and charging weight of the raw material is adjusted.
