PURPOSE:To prevent the blocking of the flow passage of incinerated ash as well as the opening end of an air supplying means, by a method wherein the stroke of a first pusher, which transfers the incinerated ash in an upstream part forcibly to the downstream thereof, is detected and converted into the number of pulse while the first and second pushers are operated in conjunction with each other by the accumulated value of the pulse. CONSTITUTION:Incinerated ash, thrown into the upstream part 7a of a passage 7 from a discharging port 6, is heated in the upstream part 7a and is mixed with air from an air supplying means 11 simultaneously whereby combustion heat generating reaction is caused. Remaining carbon in the incinerated ash is incinerated by this reaction. Further, combustion heat generated, promotes the fusion of the incinerated ash after the combustion in a downstream part 7b. On the other hand, a stroke detecting means 13 outputs a pulse in accordance with a stroke into a controller 14 in conjunction with the operation of a first pusher 9a, therefore, the controller 14 accumulates the outputted pulse and detects clinker, being produced in the passage 7 or produced already, based on the operating condition of the first pusher 9a. When the clinker is detected, the first and second pushers 9a, 9b are operated to exclude the clinker.
