The invention concerns a carrying device, for fork lift trucks in particular, consisting of a fork shaft (1) and a fork arm (2) connected to the fork shaft (1) and angled away from it, with upper and lower fork hooks (3 and 4) for fastening the carrying device to the fork carrier of the fork lift truck located on the back of the fork shaft (1). The lower fork hook (4) has a U-shaped horizontal cross-section. The object of the invention was to increase the endurance of the carrying device, to make the attaching of the carrying device to the fork carrier easy to handle and safe, to make it easy to shift the carrying device on the fork carrier, and to mount the carrying device on the fork carrier so it will not rattle. This aim is achieved by providing the inside of the angle between the fork shaft (1) and fork arm (2) with a protective covering (12), and having the lower fork hook (4) enclose the sides of the fork shaft with its legs and be connected to the side surfaces of the fork shaft (1) by vertical welds. The lower fork hook (4) has a locking device (6) acting on the fork carrier. At least the upper fork hook (3) is equipped with a bearing (10) acting on the fork carrier. <IMAGE>
