In a ramming shoe with a collar which, at least on the outside, overlaps the front end of a pipe which can be rammed into the earth by means of a ram, slumping of the steel pipe during ramming is avoided by at least one recess in the outer collar, in the area of which recess the circumferential surface of a cutting ring of the ramming shoe runs flush with the circumferential surface of the pipe.
