A method and an apparatus for automatically adjusting the brakes of a motor-driven articulated vehicle provided with pneumatic brakes, whereby the force exerted on the traction means during braking is measured by means of a force sensor (11) coupled between a tractor vehicle (10) and a trailer (20), and the measured value is applied to a servo mechanism (12) which automatically adjusts the brakes of the articulated vehicle on the basis of the difference in the braking forces by increasing or decreasing the braking effect of the trailer. |
