PURPOSE:To restore the tracking information, make the structure simple, process many tracking points simultaneously if any, and perform the correct tracking by adding a function to generate simulated signals to the functions used for the conventional tracking. CONSTITUTION:An event signal generator 45 generating the same tracking start signal as before during the normal tracking and generating the imaginary event signal for the processing of the strip imaginarily loaded in a rewinder 3, a coil information storage unit 60, a simulated signal generator 70, and a switching unit 80 are provided. The simulated tracking similar to the normal tracking is performed by generating simulated signals, the tracking information can be restored, the logic itself can use the conventional one, and the device structure can be simplified. In addition, even if many tracking points exist, they can be processed simultaneously, and the correct tracking can be performed.
