摘要 PURPOSE:To attempt to increase intake air-charging efficiency by providing, in a main intake passage, a valve means which is opened later than an intake valve after an intake process is started and connecting a reciprocating-type air pump driven by an engine to a combusion chamber via an auxiliary passage. CONSTITUTION:An intake port 2, an auxiliary port 3 and an exhaust port 4 are provided for each cylinder 1, and a branch intake pipe 11 branched from a surge tank 10 is connected to the intake port 2 and also a rotary valve 24 which is opened later than an intake valve 5 after an intake process is started is installed in this branch intake pipe 11. A branch auxiliary draught tube 16a is connected to the auxiliary port 3, thereby the draught tube 16a is branched from a joint draught tube 16 and extending to the inlet/outlet 15a of a reciprocating-type air pump 15 common to each cylinder 1. The air pump 15 is driven to such air before a rotary valve 24 is opened and controlled to be driven to discharge air at the last stage of the intake process. An auxiliary intake valve 6 switched by an auxiliary cam axis 23 is provided in the auxiliary port 3.
