PURPOSE:To recognize the acquisition of tuning objectively by giving the display of locking onto a display means from a channel selection control means during a prescribed time when a tuning frequency is locked to a prescribed tuning frequency. CONSTITUTION:An electronic tuner 2, a tuning detection means (AFT circuit) 5, a channel selection switch 6, a sweep control means (channel selection control circuit) and a display means 9 are provided. The channel selection control circuit 7 sweeps the tuning frequency at a high speed by a command of the channel selection switch 6, locks the tuning frequency into a prescribed tuning frequency for a prescribed time based on the output of the AFT circuit 5 and initiates the high speed sweeping of the tuning frequency again. The display means 9 displays the locking within the said prescribed time. Since the display of locking is applied by the display means 9 during the prescribed time when the tuning frequency is locked to the prescribed tuning frequency, the user can recognize the acquisition of tuning by the display of locking.
