PURPOSE:To freely effectively use plural external video input terminals and to instantaneously understand a video equipment by displaying the name of the video equipment connected to the corresponding external video terminal when an external video input is selected. CONSTITUTION:An input source selector 13 is switched by the output of a microcomputer 10 according to a command from a commander 21. A desired video signal of video signals from a video detecting circuit 12 and the external video input terminals 14A-14D is selected and displayed on a cathode ray tube 17 together with the name of the equipment. To the computer 10, the command from the commander 21 is supplied through a light receiving part 22 and the command is applied from a key switch 23 disposed on a console panel. Based on the command from the computer 10, various display signals are outputted from a display generating circuit 24 and respectively superimposed on three primary color signals R, G, B from a video signal processing circuit 15 in adders 18A, 18B, 18C. According to an output from the circuit 24, various information is displayed on the cathode ray tube 17.
