<p>Apparatus for the continuous extraction and conveying of bulk material from a storage vessel (3) has a digging device (14) which picks up the bulk material and first conveying means (25) which, in use, extends into said vessel through a top opening (15) of the vessel and which is arranged to receive the bulk material from the digging device (14) and convey it outside the vessel (3). To provide a good output rate and relatively low dust generation, the digging device has a blade wheel (20) and a screw conveyor (21). The blade wheel is rotatable around an axis and discharges the material at a position within its circumference of rotation to the screw conveyor (21) which is separate from the first conveying means (25) and conveys the material to the first conveying means (25). The blade wheel has at least one discharge element (102,103) which urges the material into the screw conveyor (25). A trough (23) is arranged to receive the material from the screw conveyor (21) and deliver it directly or indirectly to the first conveying means (25).</p> |
