3-keto delta 4,9,19-nor steroids of formula (I) are new. In (I), R1 is naphthyl, phenylphenyl, C1-6 alkyl, C2-6 alkenyl, thienyl, furyl, C3-6 cycloalkyl, alkylthio, phenyl or phenyloxy; R2 is methyl or ethyl; R3 is H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, C2-4 carboxyalkoxy or hydroxyalkyl; R4 is H, hydroxy, alkylamino, dialkylamino, alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl; R5 is H or methyl; X is oxygen, hydroxyimino or alkoxyimino; A and B are an epoxy gp. or a second bond. (I) have antiglucocorticoid activities, and antiprogestomimetic or antiandrogenic activities.
