In a method of manufacturing an evaporator with a cool storage function, a plurality of flat refrigerant flow tubes and a plurality of container forming assemblies are disposed such that a width direction of each of the plurality of flat refrigerant flow tubes and a width direction of each of the plurality of container forming assemblies coincide with a vertical direction. Peripheral edge portions of container forming plates are brazed together to prepare each of the cool storage material containers.
