Novel 1,4-disubstituted piperazine compounds represented by the formula (I): wherein A is a condensed polycyclic hydrocarbon group; R is a phenyl group substituted with a lower alkoxy group; X is methylene group, carbonyl group or thiocarbonyl group; and m is 2 or 3, and their salts are useful as a platelet activating factor antagonist.
