PURPOSE:To increase the performance, especially charge-discharge cycle performance of a battery by using a lithium-aluminium alloy plate obtained by cathodically reducing an aluminium plate in a nonaqueous electrolyte containing lithium salt. CONSTITUTION:An aluminium plate etched in a hydrochloric acid is used as a cathode, and lithium plate is used as an anode, and the aluminium plate is cathodically reduced in a 1M LiclO4-4 methyl dioxolane electrolyte to obtain a lithium-aluminium alloy plate. The alloy plate is blanked in a given dimension to form a negative electrode 4. The negative electrode 4 is pressed against the inner bottom of a stainless steel negative can 6 through a negative current collector 5. Thereby, the need for a binder is eliminated, and a decrease in utilization caused by contact resistance is prevented. The coming off of the residual lithium is eliminated and the cycle performance is improved. |
